Antonio Notaro
Notaro was hastily initiated into the Brooklyn Camorra by Pelligrino Morano in 1916.
The Neapolitan Camorrists were in the middle of a feud with Sicilian Mafiosi based in Manhattan. Morano, the Camorra leader, called on Notaro to act as an assassin.
Morano lured Mafia leaders Nicholas Morello and Charles Ubriaco to Brooklyn for a supposed peace conference. On their way, the two were ambushed and shot to death.
Notaro later told police all about the incident, his role in it and the Camorra initiation. He served as a government witness in the successful prosecution of Morano and aide Alessandro Vollero.
